    Transition advice

Despite some English-specific information, I found this really useful for me as an ASN teacher in Scotland. I don't have responsibility for ASD children within the school where I work, however, as I see all children as my responsibility, this course was incredibly useful to me and I have come away with some invaluable resources. Much of the advice is useful for all children and it served as a reminder of how planning and thoughtful presentation can make a huge difference to children during the transition period, particularly during the stress caused by Lockdown. Thank you very much

I found this course to be very informative, with lots of useful, common sense, practical approaches/ideas in supporting SEND/ASD students through some of the biggest changes in their lives, especially when we find ourselves in unprecedented circumstances. This year has been a challenging times for both students & staff and it's the support of each other has helped us all to get through it. Well done !

Well known fundamental how to involve children back to school

I have personally found this course quite basic which is nothing wrong with. I was expected much more specific recommendations refer to unusual situation we are since March'20. What my inner sense says me that we need to be flexible and with rather creative approach when it comes to go back to school in September, especially for High school autistic and SEND pupils Year 7, 8 and 9. We do not know what it will be pandemic situation in fall term times. However, recommendations are useful and well established on requirements of educational institutions in UK.

Lynn's Story

I’m Lynn McCann and I’m the specialist teacher who loves to support anyone to understand their autistic, ADHD and PDA students

Reachout ASC is a team of specialist teachers with many year’s experience and expertise. We work with children of all ages, making school better for them.

  • We understand what teachers are going through because we have all been there, in the classroom, and understand all the pressures and targets that are put upon you.
  • We know you are not given enough training to support all the student’s needs in your class.
  • We understand parents because we are parents of autistic children and children with other additional needs.
  • We understand our students because some of us are autistic and some of us have ADHD.
  • We understand what our students are going through because we make our first priority to listen to them, giving them the communication tools they need to be able to tell us what school and being autistic is like for them.

"Fabulous"

Not only am I a LSA in a Secondary School but a mum to a son who is going to Sixth Form. I love the way you approached this from all angles, from parents teachers, support staff and most importantly our young people too.

S Powers

"Thought provoking"

Great resources, which will be really useful with all students. It also highlights perhaps some areas that we may have forgotten about whilst being in our own bubbles at home or even as some of us have been working, it is easy to forget how it has been for others.

F Lewis

"Invaluable"

Invaluable course if you want to learn more about autism. Anxiety is something that they may suffer from everyday and we need to know the signs to help them before they are on empty. I will revisit this course again as it is full of useful information, hints and tips.

C Henderson

"Very thought provoking and excellent videos"

I really enjoyed this course, it was very thought provoking and there were lots of practical strategies to take away. I really enjoyed the video on autism and joy - very funny, moving and inspiring. The trainer covered a lot of different scenarios as well.

"Thought provokingly brilliant "

Even if you think you have it all under control, you haven't! This course is so informative and covers absolutely everything you have to think about ensuring the best possible return to the school community for everyone.
